Kristin specializes in working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression or trauma that often accompanies major life transitions (launching into adulthood, birth of a baby, career shifts, loss of a loved one, relationship loss, health crisis). In her roles as a psychotherapist, parenting coach, yoga therapist and former postpartum doula, Kristin has had the privilege of intimately witnessing the varied journeys of those navigating life’s ups and downs. Through her experience, she believes that that the journey is deeply personal and that there is no one “right” way to do it. She also believes that managing change feels easier when we don’t feel we’re in it alone. Providing therapy intensives as well as traditional psychotherapy, gives Kristin the flexibility to utilize an integrative, multidisciplinary approach to bringing support and healing to her clients.
Anxiety, Depression and Trauma During the Pregnancy, Postpartum and Parenting years.
Kristin has particular interest and experience in parental mental health and working with couples and individuals as they navigate the emotional ups and downs of becoming or being a parent. Kristin has spent over 20 years supporting women and their families while they manage life stressors related to infertility, adoption, pregnancy, birth, loss and parenthood. Kristin is a CT State Coordinator for Postpartum Support International (PSI) and has completed Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care and Advanced Training in Psychotherapy for Perinatal Mood Disorders, both through PSI. Her training also includes EMDR for Maternal Mental Health and is EMDR certified through EMDRIA. EMDR is an evidenced-based approach effective in dealing with symptoms of PTSD as well as negative beliefs related to traumatic experiences. When a pregnancy or birth or a stay in the NICU doesn’t go as we expected, it can be traumatic. It is not your fault and she can help you with these feelings. You are not alone.
